While master calendar's events have save/cancel/delete buttons, personal events only have Submit/Delete ones.

Which means that when you click submit, no matter how insignificant and small your change was, you submit a new event. If you didn't change the title, you just see multiple events with the same title.

If it works for master calendar's events, why not for personal ones?

If that helps, master calendar's events use the link:

/admin/event.php?mode=edit&eid=[id]

while personal ones use:

/calendar_event.php?action=edit&eid=[id]

I couldn't manage to use the former on a personal event.

P.S.
Master calendar's events do have one flaw - you have to actually edit them in order to reach a "delete" option. They should have an immediate delete option like personal events.

When you put it this way, it sounds like a bug. I would have to dig through the code first to be sure, though.

Events can be deleted directly from the Day and Week views.

It's sort of a self aware bug. Otherwise I assume you would have used the word "save" there too and not "submit".

Also, if the personal events have a delete button when you click on them, why can't the master calendar's ones have it too?

The bottom line of the two requests is that there's no reason each type of event wouldn't have all of the advantages of the other type.
