I had to move my site a few days ago and figured I'd do a clean install of 1.4rc1. Then I figured I'd upgrade the old site from 1.3.12cvs to 1.4rc1 and just restore the database for the new site with it.
I can't do that. It looks like you can't upgrade to 1.4 from 1.3.12. I mean I'm sure you can, but I can't figure out how... what changes I need to make.
I could just move a carbon copy of the old 1.3.12cvs site over to the new host, but then I won't be able to upgrade it to 1.4 there either.
Is there a way to upgrade from 1.3.12cvs to 1.4? It looks like there are some minor changes to the database that stop an import dead. Of course, I know very little about mysql... but I am persistant enough to keep at it..
Thanks!

Well, that's the risk you take when running a site off of CVS code ...
Your best bet would be to check the CVS history of the database file and figure out where you are and apply all the changes since.
bye, Dirk

You know... I read somewhere that I shouldn't use those files unless I knew what i was doing...
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Dirk. It shouldn't be too difficult
