Apologies if this subject has been discussed before; I couldn't find anything about it.
Is there a way to change new user registration to a process without using a confirmation email?
I was thinking along the lines of username + password + whatever other information is needed + a CAPTCHA test.


Yes, I know tihis increases the risk of spamming,but with the Spam-X plugin and other measures, it will still be less work than chasing down all adminstrators of misconfigured mailsystems out there, and convince then to correct their mail setup. I try to be the webmaster of a community site using Geeklog, not a teacher of "101 Correct mail setups on the Internet".
