I am happy to announce the release of the final Release Candidate for Media Gallery v1.2.0, Release Candidate 2 There have been a lot of changes and enhancements to this release. There have also been several bug fixes and a few enhancements over RC1. I believe this is a stable release and will be the final release candidate prior to going production. Changes between RC1 and RC2:

• Slideshow autotag did not play nice if album was empty. Now returns an empty string if empty.
  
• Added several more audio / video playback options, include BGCOLOR, and several Flash specific options.
  
• When browsing the media items, if you clicked on the birdseed to return to the album view, it would always take you to page 1, now will take you to the page that the current image resides.
  
• Added an additional index to mg_albums table to optimize some of the searches.
  
• Gallery v1 import was broken in RC1.
  
• Deleting media would leave orphan records in the playback options table.
  
• Added the ability to change the album owner in the Album Edit screen.
  
• Manage Media screen did not display 'No media items' when the album was empty.
  
• Bug in album viewing that caused some albums to not be displayed if the option List Albums before media was not selected.
  
• Added ability to reset (remove) a specified album cover
  
• Rewrote the autotag features, now they are a bit more streamlined and more flexible. Read the documentation to understand how this change affects existing installations
  
• Added configuration option to disable searching for new comments on media items in the What's New Block - this could be a load on very busy servers.
  
• Reworked Album Edit screen to separate the member uploads selections from the permissions selectsions.
  
• Rewrote the Administrator's Guide.

READ THE DOCUMENTATION BEFORE UPGRADING, THERE ARE VERY IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS YOU MUST FOLLOW!

Please give this one a test and look for the final production release around February 8, 2006.
