Anonymous Visior / User can edit stories

I seem to be having a problem with one install of GL... Anonymous users (Those that have not signed up or those members that are not logged in) are still able to edit stories...

Anyone have these issues before?

Is there a fix for this without having to reinstall?

Thanks,

Vince

Shocked That should never happen ...

Did you change any of the permissions directly in the database? Sounds like the Anonymous user has story.edit permissions or is a member of a group that has that permission. But you can't do that from within Geeklog.

Since Geeklog hides the Anonymous user from most of its admin screens (for this very reason ...), it's not that easy to see that user's permissions. You'd either have to work your way through the database (very tedious) or try this little modification:

In admin/group.php in function listusers, there's a big SQL request that includes
Text Formatted Code
... WHERE {$_TABLES['users']}.uid > 1 AND ...

If you remove the bit after the WHERE and including the AND, then you should be able to see the Anonymous user in the "list members of a group" view (second but last column in admin/group.php). The Anonymous user should only be a member of the "All Users" group.

See if that helps ...

bye, Dirk
