I recently installed 1.4.0 from scratch (not upgrading GL) on a SuSE Linux 10 box. It's running MySQL Ver 14.7 Distrib 4.1.13 for SuSE Linux.

Everything seems to be in intact in that I can create/modify blocks, and otherwise manipulate the system, except when I go to the "Stories" link in the admin block, I get a SQL Error....here's the log error:

Sun 12 Feb 2006 20:24:23 MST - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to you
r MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND (((owner_id = '3') AND (perm_owner >= 2)) OR ((group_i
d IN (2,4,7,11,5,13,12' at line 1. SQL in question: SELECT count(*) FROM gl_stories WHERE 1 AND AND (((owner_id =
'3') AND (perm_owner >= 2)) OR ((group_id IN (2,4,7,11,5,13,12,10,8,14,3,6,9,15)) AND (perm_group >= 2)) OR (perm_
members >= 2))

This occurs 100% when I click the "Stories" link. Known problem? Something else wrong with my install?

If its any consolation, I have GL 1.4 running on SUSE 10 server and a Fedora Core 4 server without problems. Have you messed with any of the .php files, such as admin/story.php?

P.S.

SUSE 10 has register_globals=off in the php.ini file. I think GL 1.4 is supposed to run okay with register_globals=off, but you may try to to turn it on and see if that helps.
