I installed ban_1.0_1.3.8.tar.gz on GL1.3.11 and on GL1.4.0. Installation was successful (using chown as root.root or apache.apache didn't matter).
However, when I went to view Ban Log in Admins Only -> Ban, I got this error message at the top of the browser:
Warning: file("/home/www/logs/ban.log") - No such file or directory in /home/www/htdocs/admin/plugins/ban/logview.php on line 94
Warning: Bad arguments to implode() in /home/www/htdocs/admin/plugins/ban/logview.php on line 94
I went to /home/www/logs. Found that ban.log was not created, Manually created it with permission -rwxrwxr-x. The above error message dissappeared. Is this how it should be done??
Other issues:
1. Banning IP
When I ban an IP and go to View the ban.log it shows nothing.
2. Permission changes to -rw-r--r--
When I did click "Clear Log File", it clears the log file but changes the permission to -rw-r--r-- In fact, it changes the permission to access.log. error.log as well when I view and click "Clear Log File" to these log files.
Is there something else that I need to toggle?
Thank you.

Hi, Any comments? Anyone?
ie. What I am doing wrong? A pointer to a previous answer perhaps? A "Don't worry, we're al getting the same error message"? Just uninstall it and install the previous plugin?
There is nothing worse than installing a plugin tool like Ban or Bad Behavior (which is suppose to shore up one's site) and not know if it is installed correctly or actually working. It leads to either a false sense of security or a even more paranoia.
Any kind soul out there, please speak to me... Thank you.
