So, my host only allows for 100 megs worth of space for a mysql database, well today I could not get to my site because of the following error:
"An SQL error has occured. Please see error.log for details."
Looking at the error.log I see the last error is trying to add data to the db. I'm pretty sure the problem is that my db is 150 megs. How can I safely purge some data out?
Also, the gl_comments table is 159,816 bytes which seems to be one of the biggest tables in my db.
Thanks,
dam

That sounds excessive. Are you using the GUS or Stats plugin? Those are known to add a lot of data. The File Management plugin's download log can also grow quite a bit over time.
You should really check where all that data comes from. Even if your comments table has 160 K (do you have that many comments?) that's only a minor part of 150 MB - all that data must be coming from somewhere ...
bye, Dirk
