But does the geeklog ping automatically or i have to do it manually

and if i edit my last article and try to find the ping option it is not there

i can not find it

but i remember ping option was there before i published my article

The "ping" option is not available when the story's draft flag is set, its date is in the future, or the permissions are set such that anonymous users can't see the story.

And, yes, will have to be sent manually. We don't want to flood sites with pings when someone goes back to a story to fixes typos and such.
