Hello. I have installed geeklog with Fantastico... Immediately after install it asked for the "upgrade". So, at the click of the word "upgrade"... I clicked.. This was the result:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: com_numberformat() in /home/nannette/public_html/tbd/plugins/polls/functions.inc on line 502

Interesting, I never noticed an upgrade possibility with Fantastico. From which version did you upgrade to which?
The 'polls' have changed in 1.4.0 they bacame a plugin.
I suppose the update went wrong and something like
public_html/polls/ is missing. Maybe download a fresh geeklog and FTP only this to your webspace.

I had the exact same problem. I upgraded from 1.3.11sr1 to 1.4.0sr1
Are you saying to just install the polls plugin? The polls directory is on the server in the plugins directory where it should be. The installation appears to be correct.
Or are you saying to upload the entire geeklog install from scratch? How can I uncompress it on a windows machine. All I have is winzip wich won't uncompress it.

I also have had the same problem. I tried to upgrade, using Fantastico, from version 3.11 sr1 to 1.4.0 sr1.
Fortunately, being a long time linux user, I was able to follow the sketchy undo instructions Fantastico left (and the left several steps out in their description).
I'm tempted to try the upgrade again, but I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to upgrading, and can't afford for the site to be down long.
I'm wondering if the problem could be something like the menu plugin, which I needed in order to have submenus, or some other block I'd added (only one I created for google adsense).
I'd really like to upgrade, but I'm really afraid to try again. A manual upgrade would be possible, I suppose, but would that eliminate a fantastico upgrade later?

Hmmm,
I have completed a couple of Fantastico Geeklog upgrades and other than theme funniness have had no problems as you describe. I crossed the 1.3* to 1.4.0sr1 border. Preexisting polls worked out fine.
Look at your config.php file and make sure all the settings int he file are correct. Also, IIRC there is also a file that points GL at the config.php file make sure that is pointing in the correct place.

I have the same fantastico problem, and I uncompressed the tarball on my windows machine and uploaded the files manuall using FTP and originally got a "fatal error"....
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: com_formattimestring() in /home/seattlew/public_html/site/plugins/links/functions.inc on line 87
I went to http://mysiteurl.com/admin and logged in and disbled that and the poll plugin, and the site works.
With both of those disabled the upgrade functions as normal, except I can't get polls and links working again. If you know how to do that, I would appreciate knowing.
Second problem is that there is now the following....
{feed_url} {advanced_editor}
At the top of every page. I don't know how to get rid of those either.
Any suggestions would be helpful. (my config.php file seems to be fine)

Does this problem have a fix? ... or has this thread just died. I'm am likewise receiving the same error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function COM_numberFormat() in /home/mydirectory/public_html/webportal/plugins/polls/functions.inc on line 502
Suggestions/solutions welcome! Thanks in advance.

As I wrote above: This happens when you have an old version of lib-common.php.
COM_formatNumber was introduced in Geeklog 1.4.0, so it looks like you're using a pre-1.4.0 lib-common.php (where this function is located, as of 1.4.0).
When you install an upgrade, make sure to replace all the files.
bye, Dirk
