Increasing Fourm Topic Length on homepage

I must be missing something somewhere. What do I need to edit to increase the number of characters of topic title that are shown in the 10 most recent messages on the center of the homepage?

Take a look at the centerblock function in the plugins functions.inc file. There is a define at the top of the function as I recall.
