Hello all...
Have a question regarding the ID tags for static pages and for Stories...
I have been separating words with an underscore (_). Recently I read a few articles claiming that search engines are not to friendly with (_) and should use dashes (-) instead.
My question is when typing more than one word for the ID, can I have a space between words? Or must I have either a (_) or (-)?
ie...
www.mygeeklogsite.com/article.php/my main page
www.mygeeklogsite.com/article.php/my_main_page
www.mygeeklogsite.com/article.php/my-main-page
Any help and/or insight is greatly appreciated.

Geeklog will actually filter out spaces from a story id. They would work, but are a constant source of confusion and may end up being encoded as %20 which looks just ugly.
Personally, I prefer the dash '-' as a word separator. It also make for more consistent URLs if you already have a dash in your domain name (where underscores are not allowed).
Here's someone straight from the source on the topic "dashes vs. underscores".
bye, Dirk

Thanks for great article and insight Dirk... I read about the booth at the Linux event. That's awesome, congrats and good luck. If I was closer I would love to attend and volunteer.
