I've gotten a couple of strange trackbacks in the last couple of days. From different IPs, but they were probably from the same bot. They both said "good related article".
One linked back to www. msn.com, and the other linked to www.google.com (the main page in both cases, not a specific article or search). It's obviously not a real trackback. But why would a spammer want to add a link to google or msn? Maybe just testing his bot?

I've been getting them too. They use lots of different IP addresses. Seems to be a test phase for their bot. But I have a trackback submission queue so they never actually get posted.

Is the trackback submission queue a standard feature, or did you add it? I'm running version 1.4.0sr2, and my config file doesn't seem to have an option for trackback queue. I have submission queue switches for storysubmission, eventsubmission, and usersubmission. Is there support for a trackbacksubmission switch that I just don't have set in my config file? Or did you add something to make it work?

I got slammed by trackback spam about a week ago. The bot added links to mostly porn sites...

Not sure when I got the trackback spam but I just deleted 68 porn links.

Just spent a good 15 minutes clearing out Trackback Spam, I need to turn of Trackbacks until someone figures out how to prevent it.

The Bad Behavior plugin stops a lot of it. I still get a few that slip through every once in a while, but my server logs show lots of attempts that got blocked.
