when I post a story, the date is always set to the next day. I do select the current date (ie. 16 April 2006) , but it automatically reverts back to the day for tomorrow (ie.17 April 2006). I think this is why my stories don't get published straight away.
how can I change this?

No immediate idea about your other problem. Is your webserver located in another timezone?
