Static Page "inline"

I've searched the forums and not quite found what I wanted. I have a small, trivial bit of html I want to include in several places. One old way to do this would have been server side includes which is not php-ish. I don't want to write any php for something this trivial, nor do I want to store files on the server outside of geeklog.
What I would like to do is just create a static page, say called "common_text", within geeklog, then be able to reference that static page in my markup for the other pages and have it included inline (rather than just a link) with something like this:
[inline:common_text]
Is this possible?
Thanks,
Robert Kuropkat
