Good Evening!
I am working with the GL 1.4 product in a corporate environment. I have come across the need to have different groups have a few different needs...
1. Seperate look and feel to the site (yes i now this can be done with the templates)
2. The ability to have one single install of the program/database and have a few completely different functionality based on a users login.
Number 2 is the main issue. For instance, when I login as an Admin, I want to see all naturally and only post some stories, links, downloads, forums, all in one single place. The idea is that if person A logs in they will have a completely different layout and their functionality, i.e., different stories on the home page, seperate block structure, different features, different topics, etc.
Now I was thinking that most of this can be done trough the style templates but the organization of the topics and others is only globally customizable.
Its almost as if I want to have two installations pointing to the same DB...
Does this make sense? Anyone have any ideas on how we can essecially make two seperate sites be accessed through the main GL site (which ever is default) and allow the respondent to select their formats and filtering?
Thank you all I kno this might be hard to follow. I appreciate your time and I want to say thank you to Dirk and others for this great product.
Best,
Geoff
