Tracking Links in Web Resources

Client wants to use an ad-tracker to track clicks of links in the Web Resources section (links plugin in GL v1.4) of Geeklog.
Problem: final destination URL is displayed as the link 'TITLE', not the 'A HREF'. Instead, the 'A HREF' points to the link ID in the db, so the ad-tracker doesn't get triggered to capture the clickthrough.
Is there a workaround so that the 'A HREF' is actually the ad-tracker URL? The ad-tracker would then handle the redirect to the final destination URL.
Only immediate idea that comes to mind: list links in a static page instead of the Web Resources/Links plugin section.
Thanks for any help!

Just switch the two variables in the template file then.
In order to count the number of clicks on a link, Geeklog will have to route links through portal.php. If you change the template file so that it links directly, that won't work any longer, but will help your link tracker ...
bye, Dirk

Hey Dirk, thanks a million!
I found the template to edit (linkdetails.thtml), and your suggestion worked like a charm!
Since the link hits won't be counted as a result, I simply removed the variable from the template completely so it won't display at all.
I appreciate you taking time to answer.
