keeping the left and right blocks fixed

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if it's possible to keep the side blocks on my page at a fixed distance from each other, to make the page appear proportional instead of having the blocks butting against the sides of the monitor. The reason I want to keep them fixed is I have a banner at the top heading and depending on the display resolution of the monitor, the side columns may or may not align with that banner. At my home computer's monitor display size (1024x768 ), they do align with the banner, but at my work computer, where the screen resolution is higher, the page looks disjointed and incomplete. If only I could make those columns stay in place...

IS there a quick fix to my query? I appreciate any suggestions and help.

By the way, here is my website: www.streetvendor.org

In /public_html/layout/professional/header.thtml you should be able to change the width in the first table from width="99%" to width="990" to match the width of your banner image.
