Google Ad Sense in a Static Page?
BMcDonald
Anonymous
I can get the Google Ad Sense to display in the header and in blocks, but for some reason, it won't show up in a static page. Anyone know why, and if so, how to make it work?
Thanks
Thanks

I've been through this
It basically works this way.
First bit
google_ad_client = "pub-0698042900796858";
google_ad_width = 468;
google_ad_height = 60;
google_ad_format = "468x60_as";
google_ad_type = "image";
google_ad_channel ="4837792290";
google_color_border = "DFF2FD";
google_color_bg = "DFF2FD";
google_color_link = "0000CC";
google_color_url = "008000";
google_color_text = "000000";
//--></script>
goes to header.thtml somewhere between head tags.
Second bit
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>
goes to a staticpage or article, etc.
Should work.

Thanks for your help. I did test it on another installation and it works fine. But on the one I'm having trouble with, it's just not showing on the page. If you click on the print page icon at the bottom, it opens a window and you can see the ads fine. It's just not displaying on the static page. You can see what I mean here
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the static page display template but I can't which file controls it.

Location:The Netherlands, where else?
Well, if you have a look at the source code of your page you can see the Adsense code allright. I guess the Adsense spider couldn't find any content to get related ads.

No, if google can't find any related ads, it dishes up public service ads. Like I mentioned above, if you go to the page and click on the print icon at the bottom, it actually displays what's supposed to be on the static page.
Does anyone know which template page controls the static page?

I've noticed something interesting which can actually solve the adsense mystery at your site
You have already adsense in the header right? It looks like that the following ads are not displayed if there are already some ads present.
I noticed this strange behaviour here. There is a static page as center block with adsense which is displayed first. Then I created a story, that goes after the block, and you can see that ads are not displayed. However if click on the story's title you can see the ads perfectly.

Yes, that's exactly what's happening with me. BUT, I did the same thing on another installation I have of geeklog and it works fine. It allows google ads in the header, side blocks and in the static page. You can see it here. For some reason, if I use a black background it messes it up. Very strange.
