Preperations for website pre Geeklog install

I am using FTP on windows to upload to my site. What (if anything) do I need to do to prepare the site for the geeklog install?? After that, is there anything else I should do besides what is in the documentations?

Not sure what sort of answer you expect ... Try reading the installation instructions, it's all in there. Plus, read the "success" screen when you're through with the install.
