Comments and Read More stopped working

Has anyone else seen this after 1.4 SR3? I can't get to comments or read more - the link shows up with blahblaharticle.phpartname#comment but just returms to the index.php every time. So does the read more link. This worked fine prior to SR3 but I can't find or trace what is causing the problem.
