I think it is because you let it be scaled by the browser, i.e. the
image is of a certain size (597x165), but in the img-tag you tell the browser
to scale it up to 735x222.

Thank you for your help. So.. do I redo the artwork OR can I change the image tag? Will it make a difference?

Rolling Eyes

Also... I thought Geeklog resized images.

The final point.

How do I fix this in simple terms. Thanks...

If you want the pic in the big size you ned to redo the artw.
If you want to keep the image in the original size you alter the size in the img tag to the actual image size.

Its not GL that resizes images, but the browsers. So if you set the display-size in the img tag larger than the original it will be enlarged and maybe look fuzzy Smile

Question Where to change the size on the Geeklog code? I looked here on header.thtml:

Text Formatted Code
<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="header-logobg-container-inner"><tr>
<td class="header-logobg" width="70%" align="left" valign="middle">    <a href="{site_url}/"><img src="{site_logo}" alt="{site_name}" border="0"></a></td>
<td class="header-logobg" width="30%" align="right" valign="middle"><span class="site-slogan">{site_slogan}</span>    </td>
</tr></table></td></tr></table>

But I see no where to change numbers. There are only percentages here.

So, where would I change the size of my logo? Any help would be good.

I generally have someone do all of this for me so while I've had GL for a long time... I generally piddle with the code. Any help here would be great and YES, I went to the forum search but did not find this there. Thanks in advance.

This is the bit that includes the site logo:
Text Formatted Code
<img src="{site_logo}" alt="{site_name}" border="0">

It's not setting a width or height for the image, so it's using the original size of the image. So all you have to do is resize your logo to the size that you want and upload it.

bye, Dirk

Thank you Dirk for responding. I know this gets very repetitive for you but I do appreciate your patience and it does help those whose minds are really not geek minds but wanna-be's.

My point still is...."Why won't the size logo that I have work?" What if that particular size "is" the size I want? Then what? You said-

So all you have to do is resize your logo to the size that you want and upload it.

so what if I want it the size that I have uploaded?

Again, thank you. N

Which site are we talking about? On bloomwhereyouplanted.com (or rather nans.us, which appears to be the site's real URL), the logo does have a hard-coded size:
Text Formatted Code
<img src="/images/logo.gif" width="597" height="165">

And those appear to be the logo's actual dimensions.

bye, Dirk

First, Again, thanks.

The site is http://www.nans.us/index.php

The problem is that the logo is fuzzy. I was told above, it was because my code does not match my logo size so I went to the code to change the numbers.

Bottom line.

Why do you think the logo is fuzzy? Can I fix it by changing the size numbers on the header.thtml or do I have to resize the artwork.

Thank you.

Well, the size in the img tag matches the logo's size, so that's not the problem.

The problem is something else entirely: Your image is a GIF with a transparent background. It looks fine on a white background, but "fuzzy" on the site's blue background. That is, when the white background shines through the transparent parts of the image, it's looking good. It's not looking good (aka "fuzzy") when the blue background is shining through the transparent parts.

Solution? You could remove the transparency (your graphics program should have an option for that) and see how that looks. Or you could redesign the site so that the logo sits on a white background. Or you would need a logo that's optimized for a blue background ...

bye, Dirk

Smile Well, Great ! At least I'm not crazy! I begin to think I am r e a l l y dense when It gets explained and explained and I still don't get it.

I'm glad it wasn't the resizing problem because I just couldn't see that but okay.. New problem.

I will see what I can do and again and again... thank you!
