Change website name

Hi

I am using Geeklog on my site and am impressed.
My problem being at the moment is the url is
http://MYDOMAIN.com/geeklog/public_html//index.php
and I am trying to shorten the name to just my domain name.com and cannot see how this is possible.
The install was done automatically through my host (Godaddy.com) and I did not install Geeklog myself.

Is there a simplified method to do this as I am not that knowledgable in PHP.

Also in the early stages of using Geeklog I had a and area in the admin control panel that could allow me to alter the headers/footers etc and now cannot find it?

I am using version (1.3.9sr1)

Thankyou for your help on this.

I'd suggest that you remove what have now entirely and install it again manually. Version 1.3.9 is really, really old and has several known security issues. Please use the current version instead.

The bit about the site's URL is addressed in the installation instructions.

bye, Dirk

Thats what I'm looking for.

Infact, sorry to double post but there's nothing there that seems to help (Unless this newbie is missing something)
My host allowed me to select and install Geeklog for me, no uploading or changing CMOD at all.
Now I am left with a URL as mentioned in my first post above and although not a problem I wish to shorten it to just my domain name.

To change the URL, you will either have to move the files or, if you can, point your domain to Geeklog's public_html directory (and then adjust $_CONF['site_url'] in your config.php accordingly).

And let me repeat that you should really use a newer version of Geeklog. If your hosting service is still offering Geeklog 1.3.9 to their customers, then please contact them and ask them to update their auto install ASAP.

bye, Dirk
