I can not get faqman to install.

I set it up as directed but when I go to the plugin install page and click the install button nothing happens. I checked the error log but there was no entries regarding this.

I am pretty sure I got everything right and double checked the permissions on the folders/files.

I read on some posts about the "register_globals" needing to be on. I do not have access to the php.ini file and am unsure where and how to edit the .htaccess file if that is indeed required.



any suggestions for me?

Yes, it requires register_globals to be on. See the FAQ for another option to switch on register_globals.

Sorry, but I am a noob at this.

Everywhere (as In any line) I stick that text into my .htaccess causes a error when try to access the website (site does not come up).

Is there a specific syntax for entering the "php_flag register_globals on" text into the file?

It's possible that your hosting service doesn't allow that option. Try talking to them, they may have other ways to activate register_globals.
