I successfully installed geeklog. I ran check.php and changed privelages to 777, fixing any errors there. But whenever I try to log in as admin, create a new account, or submit anything, I immediately get an error: 500 internal Server Error. The error itself seems to indicate the problem is with my server setup and not geeklog, however I havent had any trouble hosting other sites. I tried everything on the common problems pages, but to no avail. The only one I am not sure of is the part about forwarded sites. I am forwarding my site, but I tried every possibility in the 'cookie domain' variable, none of which made a difference. For reference my site is www.sardonicguild.com. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hmm, the lack of images on the site indicates that you have other problems as well. Are you sure your paths are correct? See The images don't load

Also, do you have access to the webserver's (not Geeklog's) error_log? That would probably contain some useful hints as to what the problem really is.

I tried changing around the site url variable, but that would only make things worse. Im pretty sure my paths were correct to begin with.

As for the log, I clicked around a bit and made all the errors appear, but the log didnt show anything new, nor does there seem to be any related old entries.

What should I try?

After some poking around, it appears that the real URL to your site is something like home.sardonicguild.com:8080 - try that as your $_CONF['site_url'].

Ha! That did it! I had tried home.sardonicguild.com before, but not with the port number. Thanks a bunch for the help!
