Hi people,

I would like to ask about the different ways that I can use in my geeklog site avoiding forum spammers bots.
I have installed in it these:
GL1.3.11
Forum2.5RC1

Is there any plugin like that one I have seen many times that ask you for a number or a phrase showed in a .gif in order to post something in a forum?

Im tired of those bots that spamms all the time and skip my prottections and my bans....

Thnx a lot!

Usually, Geeklog's Spam-X plugin can cope quite nicely with the spammers, as long as you keep feeding it the usual keywords. See our wiki for details if you're not familiar with Spam-X yet.

What you've been asking for is called a CAPTCHA. There's one for the registration form in our downloads section but I'm not aware of any implementation for the forum.

HTH

bye, Dirk

Didnt know that was named as CAPTCHA what im looking for.
Could I ask any programmer to create a CAPTCHA plugin for our loved geeklog's forum plugin?

Ill take a look to the wiki zone as soon as possible.

Thanks again.
