Hi.

How does the approve-new-user process work?

I've figured out the basics, but because I haven't used the feature yet I'm not sure whether there's something wrong with the setup or the process i'm using.

Here's what I have so far:
1. The person requesting the account uses the New User form to request an account, providing a username and email address.
2. The requestor will receive a message on the website indicating that their request will be reviewed and if approved, a password will be sent to them.
4 To approve or decline the account:
a. Log into the site as an administrator.
b. Click on Users in the Admins Only block.
c. Click on the pencil icon (under the Edit column) for the user.
d. In the User Status dropdown, change the field to ?????????

I tried chaning it to Awaiting Activation and Active, but no email was sent to the test email account I used. I'm assuming it should be sent automatically, rather than manually. Was I supposed to complete the New Password fields?

Much simpler: Go to "Submissions". User submissions are listed there just like story submissions.

If you want to do it via the "Users" panel, set the user's status to "Awaiting Activation" (= waiting for the user to log in for the first time).
