I do not want all event categories shown in eventsblock

I have a client who wants to combine his diary with events. All events should be shown in calendar.php, but one of the event categories (his normal appointments) should NOT be shown in the eventsblock.

How can I achieve that?

Could he not use the personal calendar for his non-public events?
