Add Userphoto to comment

I need to show th userphoto in each comment!

I try with:

Text Formatted Code
<img src="{site_url}/images/userphoto/{author}.jpg">
 


and it works. But If some users upload gif or png userphoto.
i need to find a way to manage photo extension

Can someone help me

{author_photo} will give you the complete URL of the user's photo.

Thanks a lot!

I start from your tip to make it better

in the function GET USER PHOTO you can set image width (4th parameter!!!)
In few days i upload new version of my site for showing up these hacks

Now i have smallphoto in comment and big photo in profile.

I add userphoto to messenger inbox too with a simple query

There's a force_photo_width option in config.php:
Text Formatted Code
// Force a max. width when displaying the user photo (also used for gravatars)
// $_CONF['force_photo_width'] = 75;

(note that you need to activate that line - it's commented out by default)

I'm using this for comments that resemble the forum's layout over on geeklog.info, e.g. here.
