I had changed my admin pass and have been editing things, but i went to create a new user and it seemed fine but never sent me an email. So i went in as Admin and the user was there but not confirmed or with a password. So i just changed all that as admin.
But for other users they won't recieve their confirmation email.
How do I fix this problem?

Emails are sent out but sometimes end up in spam filters. Try using SMTP instead of the standard 'mail' setting.

See Configuring email (Geeklog 1.3.9 and newer versions) for more information.

I'll try that, but when you click to finish registering a new user is flashes a screen really fast that say something about ...user does not exist... It goes by so quickly I can't read the whole thing. But then it goes to the page and states the confirmation that an email has been sent ....
Does that message of non existing user make any sense?

Nope. Are you using a custom registration form?

no, all i have done is change the logo, added some portal blocks, changed the poll and the first story.
I changed my admin password and then after that I tried creating a normal user account and it didn't email the password and that quick message flash came up in between the time i confirmed the new user and when the confirmation message comes up.
Here is the link to the blog

Try to create a new account.

Thanks

The message is
Text Formatted Code
Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 550 <myemailaddresshere> No such user here in C:Inetpubvhostsskatemidwest.comhttpdocsgeeklog-1.4.0sr5-1systempearMailmail.php on line 113

which is odd, as it seems like your SMTP server is complaining that it doesn't have an account for my email address?!

Talk to your hosting service. You may need to use authentication for SMTP or maybe something's not configured correctly there.

bye, Dirk

I figured it out.
Instead of setting it to smtp.domain.com
I had to set it to mail.domain.com
I'm not sure why, but it works so good enough for me.
