When creating static pages how does one insure that it picks up the correct theme being used when you have several themes? In other words I want to create a static page that automatically picks up the box surrounding it and the correct colors. I note that if it was a block that it does it automatically. Thanks.

By default, the contents of a static page are sandwiched between the blockheader.thtml and blockfooter.thtml template files of the current theme. So it will pick up the current theme's design automatically.
You can also override that default, in case you want static pages to have a different layout.
