Upgrade probs

Decided to new thread this even tho i posted earlier...
Any help on this one? upgrading from 1.3.1 to 1.4. installed backed up db, all files copied up, selected upgrade and bang! MYsql error and the error log says

Upon further research I don't know about the other lines above but the registrationrequired is in the forum table if that helps...

i took out all the menu tables in the old db and registrationrequired is now nowhere in the backup yet now when i hit upgrade i get just this in the log..

so where is it gettting registration required from now?

I cut and pasted the mysql from the backup file and performed it that way without the forum crap and bingo it went ok.... and site is up.....
I would appreciate a response tho on why the above prob occurred in the first place? thanks..t

I take that back.....site came up but even clicking to go to front page for default login got the mysql errors...the other lines in the first post ..so what gives? thanks..t

Not from Geeklog. You must have code for some (possibly only half-installed) add-on on your site.

Hey Dirk....it came from the forum plugin...older one that came out about the time as 1.3.10

i finally got the old version up and running again for now but will have to just start over when that 1.4 comes out next weekend anew and reinstall everything....

my big question is the lines above that that don't refer to a specific thing..what do those lines indicate? thanks..t

Nah. 1.4.1 will be out as a beta first, followed by 1 or 2 release candidates or so. So it will be at least another 4 weeks before the final version is out. And even then we'll support 1.4.0 with security releases until 1.4.2 is out.

That usually means that they referred to a table whos name was missing from the $_TABLES array. Again, that's an indication of a partial install of some add-on or plugin.

ok will do clean install on 1.4 then..it has to be more stable than my crippled site now..haha..

and thanks for the info and the explanation...I am not proficient in any of this..just 6-7 yrs of jumping in blindly and learning by doing and trial and error..thanks for the help..t
