Just copy favicon.ico to /public_html or equivilent.
No code changes needed.

The last guy's information is corrupt. (No offense, I tried it your way and got nothing) You do have to edit your header.
edit your header.thtml in say frontpage (or any other editor),
get to the code portion of the header (via the "code" button on the bottom left of frontpage)
Erase the line that has favicon.ico in it, and put this line of code in:
make sure you delete the tags:
Also ensure your icon is the right size and what not. A good website to make a favicon is www.favicongenerator.com

Info is not corrupt. Checkout http://en.wikipedia.com/wiki/Favicon.
I did mine some time ago but now most browsers support Brians method as well.

Your correct. Sorry man, I guess it wasn't corrupt. My wording is not so good that late at night. No Offense.
I actually just switched over to WordPress. Geeklog wasn't as customizeable as I wanted.
