by default the story are shown on index page ( and if no story the default "no story message" will de displayed). I want to use a static page in the index page without any news displays. Is there any way I can remove the scripts display for news story on index page?

I believe it should be the code in index.php but I'm not sure if I can remove the code and which codes , as I am not a programmer in profession.

Any help would appreciate.

Geeklog 1.4.1 also now has an option to hide that message.

I wanted to do a search but wasn't sure what search terms to use, and could not find the answers when i search on "index.php"

anyway thanks... I've resolve this issue , thanks to your guidance.

for the benefit of all it is easy to remove the "no stories to dispay" table.
there is no need to remove any code at all.

logon as admin , go to static page editor , look for "centre block" > position > set to "entire page" > topic set to "homepage only"

that will hide the "no stories to dispaly " table and message.

Yes, but if you wanted more than one center block static page or other center block content, you would still need the config setting Dirk described.
