Tabular Dynamics Header Question - PersonalBar
Anonymous
Anonymous
I am sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have a site running with the Tabular Dynamics theme and following feedback from users have increased the font size. However, this has led to Logout on the PersonalBar dropping down onto the next line, despite there being only 4 items on the line (ie over half is still available). I have checked the Headiner.htm template (hence I knew it was PersonalBar) but there doesn't seem to be anything limiting these entries to, say, 50%.
Does anyone know which bit of code is causing this please?
Also, titles in blocks and centre blocks (static pages) are also dropping down over two or more lines - what is preventing this from using the full space available please?
Many thanks

Another TD question - if the browser is fully open, there is no scroll bar necessary left to right. However, if you reduce the size of the browser, the main section scales accordingly but the header remains fixed size - am I right in thinking that there will be something in the header table structure that should be set 100%? If so, does someone know where please?
Many thanks

Apologies - not sure what happened then.
Is there a way of only having links in the header appear to logged in users, as you can in the Menu plug-in?
The code in the header currently reads:
print '<a href="{site_url}/" class="selected"> home </a> <span class="netscape4"> </span>';
} else {
print '<a href="{site_url}/" class="plain"> home </a> <span class="netscape4"> </span>';
}
How would this change to enable each entry to only appear to logged-in users please?
Many thanks

If anyone else is stuck on this, I resolved it by going into the blockheader.thtml file and changing
Text Formatted Code
<td class="blocktitle" width="120"to
<tr><td class="blocktitle" width="auto"
I haven't seen any unexpected consequences yet.
Hope this helps someone else.

Another quick question if anyone has time to respond please.
In the header to Tabular Dynamic there is the facility for a menu - this is hard coded and can be adapted for additional links. All links work (links, filemgmt, search) apart from for two staticpages - on these two, the roll over works but when you click on the menu item to select it, it stays white (other tabs change to the colour of the PersonalBar).
Does anyone know why this would happen only on links to staticpages and how it can be resolved please?
Many thanks

Does anyone have any answers to the above questions please?
The main one that I need to resolve quickly is why the static page links in the menu do not change as intended (as it looks amateur if this is not consistent).
The others would just be nice to know.
Many thanks to anyone who can shed any light - I have used a new version of header.html from the original download (in case I messed something up) but by changing the links, it is only the menu items linking to staticpages that do not work on click.
Many thanks

Did anyone ever manage to solve these issues please?
Also, FCK editor does not load for me when using this template (but does when using professional) - it has the error message, "FCKeditorAPI is undefined" as a Java error (yellow triangle in bottom left of IE 6). Does anyone know how to rectify this please?
Many thanks

There is probably hardly anybody using this theme. It is not in the list of the demo sites:

Did you read this? http://www.geeklog.net/docs/theme.html

Thank you - I will read through to see where the changes have been made. The theme itself is in use on http://www.geekdownloads.net/ and was one that suited my needs as a clean design - it was updated for 1.4.0 but doesn't appear to have been updated for 1.4.1 yet. It does include the FCKeditor (and the templates referred to as being required for FCKeditor to work) but for some reason the advanced editor will not work. I may try tinkering with a new copy and see what happens.

I`m sorry for all the problems. I suppose that nobody really knows how to help. Maybe the right person turns up
The basic hint with themes is to copy over the missing or new files from the new professional theme e.g. the file :
layout/professional/admin/story/storyeditor_advanced.thtml
Tabular Dynamics is quite nice as it also marks the active link. I think it uses JavaScript for it from DynamicDrive.com.

I have finally managed to get the Advanced Editor working in Tabular Dynmics - it turned out it was simply a need to insert the following code into the appropriate templates (or ensure it was present).
<script type="text/javascript">
var geeklogEditorBaseUrl = '{site_url}';
</script>
This included finding templates not in the layout/ theme folders (in my case, StaticPages).

Did you notice that this theme originally has "htmlarea" as editor?
No I didn't (but then, that wouldn't mean much to me either, as whatever it is, it wasn't working properly in my installation as it appeared to be either plain text or html coding).
My set up is now working as I wanted, therefore I am not going to tinker with anything else in case I mess it up again :pray:.
The PersonalBar question I originally started out with still remains, but is something to do with a table setting somewhere that I have not traced yet (screen size and settings determines whether it drops down a line rather than moving across as preferred).
Many thanks
