Nav bar links
An ongoing - seemingly never ending project of mine now requires geeklog to function consistantly... I had this problem before, but kind of fixed it - though i cannot say how - i just got it to work...
Anyways - my client wishes to use geeklog for their site and i am very happy about this... However - the navbar links created withing geeklog, using the static pages option to add page to navbar are not working as he or i had hoped.
Preface:
1. the site is running currently 1.4.0sr2 - as with many clients getting the thing running properly takes time and money and an upgrade is not in the budget - this is what it is gonna run until it works properly.
2. the site is supposed to have a private and public side as do many geeklog sites, but the public side is supposed to have both a different set of navigation and a different main page when logged in - both of these are theoretically possible in the current geeklog architecture, but neither work - at least in 1.4.0sr2 of geeklog...
So i need to konw how to spend my time...
Either i need to upgrade and all my woes will be cured by the upgrade or do I reformat the way my clients site works and looks to accomodate my clients needs...
I dont know how well i have searched but i have not seen a fix for this - how do you fix the permissions on the static pages? So the link to it will only appear for signed is users and not for anonymous geuiests. Also i wish to have pages that would only appear for anonymous guests and not for memebers. So a different navbar for each.
I would love for it to be a simple fix, as simple as upgrading to the newest geeklog, but this seems pretty fundamental and i am pretty dangerous in geeklog but not an expert...If anyone has any ideas i could use the help...
If you want to screw around with the site, such as it is, go to... http://www.golfcardealernetwork.com/index.php
i would appreciate the help...

First of all, do yourself and your client a favour and update to 1.4.0sr5-1. See the release announcements - you should really do this.
As for the menu entries: Looking at the code, it should only display static pages (in the menu) that the current user has access to. If that doesn't work for you, have a look at function plugin_getmenuitems_staticpages() in the static page's functions.inc.
bye, Dirk
