Bi - Lingual Site
trampoline
www.example.com/lang1/
and
www.example.com/lang2/
and then linking them with a block with two buttons one for each language work ?
I think that would be the best way, however how would I link the logins ? and users so that a user on one site is mirrored by users on the second site ?
So in short (And I hope this makes sense) I have two geeklog sites sitting on the same domain, seperated by the above addressing, then linking the users and user profiles.
Maybe it could be done without linking the user profiles so that a profile could be done in each language... That would be best actually but can it be done ?
Any help graetfuly appreciated.
Thanks...

There will be some finetuning for date/language settings in the next release (1.4.1rc1, according to the current planning).
We've switched my employer's website over to Geeklog (using the multi-language feature) two weeks ago and it's working fine so far.

So if I understand it Plugins will just work with a multiple language setup, I imagine you will have to set the site as multiple language and then install pluggins ? so the SQL tables etc are produced correctly or will these be altered when you change to Multiple language ?
Well this is definately what I want.
If I were to use the same topic headings how does that work ? as I want the topic headings to be the same in both languages ?
I see you just leave the UTF language files and remove all others for which you are not using.
Lastly when is this available ?
I must be my lucky day to get this update just when I have to do a multilingual site..

If I get the current Language files traslated, will I have to do it all again for the next release which has full language support for bi - lingual sites, can someone tell me ?
Grab the language files that ship with 1.4.1b2 and translate those. They will then also work with the final 1.4.1 release.
There will be at least one release candidate before the final (probably next weekend, as we still have to sort out a few issues).
I'd also like to point out our geeklog-translations mailing list again. I usually post advance warnings there so the translators can send in their work in time.

Thanks for answering.
Also I noticed a bug here, I could not see your last post until I increased my View postings from 5 to 8, I could not see a next link for the next page of posts ?
Thanks,
Dirk
So is the Bi-Lingual feature working in the latest release and what is the Bi-Lingual plugin posted in the plugins section is this needed also ?
As mentioned in the wiki article I already pointed you to above, the multi-language support is based on earlier work by Euan McKay and LWC and has now been roled into Geeklog.

Yep, that's a bug in the forum plugin that Blaine is already aware of.

I went to the Demo site and saw some login options, am I right in thinking personal pages are to be part of the geeklog package as I saw Blooger and LiveJournal as login options ???
The demo site is still running 1.4.0sr5-1. And the Blogger/LJ login is an option that was introduced back in 1.4.0: Remote Authentication in Geeklog 1.4
