Can anyone explain the difference?
If I didn't know better I'd say it's "can edit his/her own links" vs. "can approve link submission queues" vs. "bypasses link submission queues".

But I've given a certain group only "links.edit" so its members could edit their own links. Then I've realized it also lets them bypass submission queues (which I thought "links.submit" does)!
Yes, link submission queue is enabled...

Finally, does "links.edit" also mean they could edit other people's links (if their group's edit permission is enabled in group access)?

Thanks!

As far as Links Edit is concerned (I believe this is correct...), this would bypass the submission queue I believe because anything that is submitted and approved automatically belongs to the person who approved it. So if you created a link (with edit privileges) it doesn't go into the submission queue since once approved you would no longer be the owner and therefore could not edit it.

So you're saying links.edit contains links.submit, which is a shame. links.edit should let people edit stuff, not submit them.

What about the other question (editing other people's links or not)?

As far as I have noticed - Yes.
