How do I create a block with links?

I wish to create a block linking to certain static pages, however either the links I create don't show up, or else they repeat as text in the block.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Here is an example of how to set up a block with links using the block admin panel:

Text Formatted Code

<a href="http://yoursite.com/index.htm">Home</a>
<br /><a href="http://yoursite.com/contact.htm">Contact Us </a>
 



Leave the block "type" set as "normal"

Thank you! I feel silly, Oops! I know how to do links, i think i may have mispelt href or something. Then I assumed it must have been a different format in the blocks. I appreciate you both guiding me.
