Hey all

Following an update to 1.4.1rc1 I have issues displaying characters on my site for example the £ (pound sign) just shows as a ? mark.

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

Did you change character sets? Or were you already using UTF-8 before the upgrade?

bye, Dirk

I was using whatever the default was in 1.4.0sr5.1, think it was non utf-8, I need utf8 now for the multi lingual aspect.

Characters show correctly in preview mode only mess up when you submit.

I wonder if it is the Collation setting. Geeklog does not change the MySQL table collation to utf-8 upon installation even if you choose utf-8 as the default character set.

Dirk, I have two questions:

Is there an easy way to change the existing collation from Latin1 to utf-8?

Is it possible to set the collation to utf-8 by default upon installation?

Merry Christmas!

Sam
