Hi Guys,

A cold sunday morning is always a good time to do a quick upgrade Mr. Green

After upgrading one of my sites to the latest GL 1.4.1 and Latest MediaGallery, I now get this "]" orphaned tag in articles that have a media item in it.

If I look in the database, it is not there.

Anyone a quick pointer ?

I did a search, but or I get way tooooooooooo many hitse, or I get no hits.

Here is an example of the problem http://www.rindoby.net/article.php?story=Icecold

Thanks for any pointers.

Knuff,

If this is only happening with articles that have a Media Gallery auto tag, check the auto tag template file, autotag.thtml, located in the /plugins/mediagallery/templates/ directory. It may be the culprit.

If not, does the same thing happen when using the stock professional theme? If it doesn't, it could be something with your theme.

Hope this helps...

Thanks!
Mark

If you are using an autotag to bring up that media image then it is most likely the autotag bug. The best thing to do is completely rewrite the post. That usually solves my problem. The bug shows itself when special characters are present in a post, it usually happens when I copy and paste in text from another source that may contain points or the trademark symbol etc..

Here is the bug report on it-

Detailed description
When certain characters are present the autotag will not display or link correctly.

Sample here (7 posts down):

The text I added for the forum post is below

I think I figured out how to reproduce the autotags bug. If you enter some special characters like below in the article,
it will screw up the autotag. I guess I will have to add this to the bug list. I just wanted to test it out on another
site that wasn't mine (incase I had something setup wrong).

Yuppz, must be something like the autotag bug as I also have it with links and with the professional theme.

Very strange, as I did not encounter this with any other site I upgraded before.

Thanks for the hints, now let´s see if there is a bugfix available ...

OK, I can confirm the weird bug behaviour ...

If I use this quote

Text Formatted Code
´

the behaviour happens ...

but if I use the normal quote

Text Formatted Code
'

it is all fine.

And I can repeat it easily ... so YUPPZZZ a bug Mr. Green

Can the powers that be fix this one Mr. Green
