stressed
http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=64039 article is more or less it.

All permissions now set on 777 all even though test says differently,

Results: 7 of 7 tests performed: 0 successful, 7 failed.

Test failed!
Warning! Your Geeklog site is not set up properly. Please fix the errors listed above!

Have rechecked and rechecked but still can't write new story.

Still: /public_html/images/articles exists but is not writable

Any help would be appreciated
Richard

Some FTP programmes don`t show the settings correctly or some servers reset to 755 by themselves. Please check again! Which FTP programme are you using? Have you tried FileZilla?

I'm pretty sure that what the test script displays are in fact the current file / directory permissions ...

bye, Dirk

Maybe ask your Arrow hoster if you are not allowed to set 777. It is quite possible that there is an automatic which detects 777 and sets it back to 775. Exclamation

Thanks 1000ideen & Dirk. They were not set to 777 but are now and seems fine.

I had the same problem. It was gFTP not correctly changing the permissions. I SSH'd in and set chmod 777 articles and it worked fine. I was curious if 775 would work but it did not.
