I've been getting this error too. The link you provided didn't help Frown

For me, the error only occurs when someone tries to change their homepage. They can change other account settings with out any problems. Any ideas?

You may want to read the FAQ article again then ...

An error occured. In order not to give too much information away to potential hackers, the error message is suppressed, unless it happens to an Admin user or that config.php variable has been set. Now guess what you could do to make the error message appear ...

bye, Dirk

Look for this in your config.php file and change it to true.

Text Formatted Code

// When set to true, this will display /detailed/ debug information in the event
// of a PHP error. ONLY set this to true with your non-production development
// environments!
$_CONF['rootdebug'] = false;

Then, login with root privileges and try your page that you were looking at again.

After your done then change the config rootdebug back to false.

Yeah, I understand how to make the error message show up. But it didn't really give me much of an idea on how to fix it.

The error was "fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed"

I don't see why this should happen when a user changes their "Homepage" but doesn't occur any other time. What would be special about "Homepage" that might cause something like this?

The only thing I can think of is to check the database to see if it needs repairing, which I doubt, but possible. The other thing, did you make any modifications to the usersettings.php file in any way? If you did, try reversing the edits or insert a fresh copy from the current version archive you are using. Without further information, we are limited in what could be causing the problem.

That may be due to the spam check. Does this also happen when someone posts something on your site?

bye, Dirk

Yup, it was the spam check. As a temporarily solution I disabled it, but I'll mess with it later to try to fix it properly. Thanks for helping me out, yet again!

I got the same error when doing an upgrade from the last sr.

I've gone through install.php, and confirmed that all DB changes were made.
And, for what it's worth, even if I set rootdebug to "true", I get the error when just trying to load my main page...

Of course, sometimes, when you transpose letters, it's hard to catch (e.g., in the path in lib-common).

All is good, now.
