Is there a way I can turn off the ability of users to use autotags in their posts (except for admin)?
I still want the autotags to display when the user is viewing a post with an autotag in it but I don't want users to have the ability to use them in their own posts (comments, forum, etc..). Most users will not understand them, and it is confusing when they post a comment and they see a pile of available autotags to use.

I don't think that is possible, but you can at least remove the anoying text by removing {lang_allowed_html} from the template: /your/geeklog/public_html/layout/theme/admin/story/storyeditor.thml (and any other files with this tag in them). At least your user will not see them... But they will neither see the allowed html...
