I was viewing our site on a PC today and it was a bit strange the titles for articles were in bluse but on a mac they are black standard Geeklog subject titles, also the background of articles on one PC was blue ??
Is there any minimum version of wndows etc that should be used or is my site faulty... have a look

any pointer are helpful,

Everything looked fine for me (black titles for articles and background of articles where white). I am using IE 6, Windows XP.
Not sure why you would have that behaviour with newer browsers but older browsers due tend not to display things correctly sometimes (especially with css). Remember most users use IE 6 or higher (something like 80% of surfers) while about 15% use Firefox and the other 5% makes up the rest of the browsers/versions.

Thanks,
I sorted out the blue and text issues ( I had altered the CSS for the header to get a picture in and set background to blue in the style.css and som how that had changed the background of articles nad text head of articles.
I now seem (on IE 6 SP1 and windows 2000) to have no top menu and the search and welcome note appear in the header some over the picture...
So I am looking at that, i have altered the header.thtml as below and some of the issues are probably to do with this...
