Not going back to previous page after login

I have searched this site many times, but have not found an answer to my problem. When someone who is not logged in goes to http://www.mysite.com/submit.php?type=story, they are met with the login request, click on login, get the users.php page, then when they type in username and password and hit the login button, they are logged in and taken to the main index page, NOT the story submission page that they were previously on.
The only response that I could find in the Geeklog forums, was http://www.geeklog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?forum=3&showtopic=44421, and the answer was, Geeklog automatically takes the user back to the page they were on when they were prompted for a login.
Clearly, that's not the case for me, so...what file controls the user login redirect, and what should the code look like to keep a user on the page he was at?
Hope someone can help! Thanks!

To be able to take you back to the page you were coming from, Geeklog has to rely on the referrer. Some browsers, proxies, and firewalls let you disable the referrer, in which case Geeklog doesn't know where you're coming from and takes you to the homepage instead.
Could that explain it?
bye, Dirk

Could be. I'll try logging in from a different computer, outside our company firewall, and see if that changes anything.
Thanks for the headsup, Dirk!
