I'm currently getting the error "You have to enter the same email address in both fields!" whenever someone tries to make a new account. There is only 1 field for an email address.

Update your theme. Switch to Professional and you won't see that error.

darn... no way to fix it to work with my current theme?

possibly remove the code that looks for the 2nd email address?

Well, you should update your theme. If you are using an existing theme someone might have already updated it. Search the forums and downloads with your theme name to see if it has been updated.
