Ok, upgraded to 1.4.1 mid april..site has worked fine since...no probs...haven't changed anything at all since then except to give permissions to a couple folks to add to the photo gallery.
Site worked fine after that also.

now the if anyone goes to the site, it loads and loads and loads forever and never loads. I have accessed it from diff computers from diff states, a fellow from church accessed from guatemala fine and then a couple days ago this starts.

No idea what it is...I can access my cpanel for the server, I can access the gallery outside of geeklog fine.

Just can't access anything in geeklog.

the techies at the host said the following
Pages use resources of each other in a way that will never complete.

Now, why would this site work fine until a couple days ago and then just go bottoms up? Is it geeklog or is it the server?

I was able to access it today and yesterday ONLY on a computer that had the cookie for it on it and refreshed numerous times, and it showed the number of guests change a couple times, was able to go to the discussion board and back to home page and the gallery and back and no prob....but when I deleted temp internet files and cookies, I can no longer access any of the geeklog stuff..why?..thanks..t

Ok, we had this problem once a long time ago.
your gallery is trying to display items (probably in the random image block) that have permissions for logged in only.

you can log into gallery directly http://www.calvarychapelasheville.org/gallery2/main.php
and try to remedy the situation.

I need to release an update for G2Bridge as GL1.4.1 now detects anonymous users differently.

You need to login with the user you used to setup gallery

Also I've been known to use phpmyadmin to disable plugins and blocks manually. <- not recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Hi, sorry and last time I bother you email...if you go to http://www.calvarychapelasheville.org/gallery2/main.php you will see the error I am getting now...I can't get a login screen at all...I was able to earlier today but now i get the message you will see at that url.

can you tell me how to get around that?

And after logging in what is it I want to disable?

Can you tell me how to disable the bridge via phpadmin, IF it is not too detailed, I know your time is valuable.

If I put the install gallery back up and install again, will that do it? will that loose my current galleries?
Any idea what the fix was a few mos. back?

in gallery2/config.php ~line 158 $gallery->setConfig('mode.maintenance', false); set to true to disable the site for all but admins.

phpmyadmin->gl_plugins->browse->edit the plugin you want to disable->set pi_enabled to 0

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help...that solved everything....am able to access the site again and the gallery via bridge and all is well.

my only question now is why I can't access it as standalone as before...is that something to do with the bridge?
or is it something I need to post at menalto?

http://www.calvarychapelasheville.org/gallery2/main.php
will show the error, and earlier today i was able to login from that link and run as standalone...so have no idea what has happened...but just want to make sure that it is not something with the bridge and will post it at the menalto site..
Again, thanks so very very much for your help...t
