Migrated site - experiencing failures

We are migrating our Geeklog installation to a new server. It has been moved from a Plesk 8.1 managed machine to another with the same version. We are experiencing very strange issues.

Early on it appeared that the domain was not resolving, as the site came up by IP, but all full path files (images and css) were failing. A test domain on the server told us that DNS resolution was not the issue. We made adjustments to php.ini, and it appeared to work - although we did experience some intermittent issues. As of last night, all php pages are coming up either blank or "not available". I have replaced the index.php with an index.htm and the domain is resolving without a problem.

Anyone had to deal with this? Any idea where we should look?

Appreciate any help.....

"Not available" must be coming from the webserver or browser. As for blank pages ...

Did the site_url change during the move?

No. It is the same URL. I appreciate the link in the prior post. I will check that out. The frustrating thing here is that it didn't work, then it did work, and now its not working.

This was helpful, and I now have error display on.

The problem is reported as "path/to/config/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 112".

That line appears to relate to connection to the MySQL database. It reads:
$this->_db = mysql_connect($this->_host,$this->_user,$this->_pass) or die('Cannnot connect to DB server'Wink;

I should note that I have another program on this server that is CGI based that uses a MySQL database. It is operating without a problem, so I am assuming I have a PHP setting or issue. I obviously am not an expert on this, and have no clue what might cause it. This is a dedicated server and we have full root access.

Do you know what might be wrong?

Thanks for the help!

It would help if you quoted the actual error message ...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/vhosts/workcompblog.us/httpdocs/config/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 112

I did not mention that the RSS feed is still working, so it can apparently access the database at some point.

Well, that's obvious then: Your PHP doesn't have the MySQL supported loaded or compiled in (depending on the platform).

bye, Dirk
