Pretty frustrating. I downloaded chameleon, uploaded all the files the way it said in the install instructions but the appearance of the blog won't change. Is there some trick to this or does the thing just not work? :banghead:

Hi kd0afk,

I'm sorry you're frustrated. Did you change your theme to chameleon in your site's config.php file? For more info, please visit the Chameleon documentation wiki at gllabs.org. Specifically, the Online Installation section toward the bottom.

Also, please feel free to post in the Chameleon forum over at gllabs.

Hope this helps!

no i didn't. i will though. i signed up at gl labs but haven't gotten any confirmation email from them to allow me to post on the forums.
One more question, when it says drag the file from the themefiles folder, do I drag the themefiles folder or just all of the contents inside the themefiles folder?

Hmmm. I don't see your username on the users list over at gllabs.org. Feel free to PM me the username you registered under and the date you registered, and I'll look into it.

Create a directory called chameleon in your site's layout directory like this: {path_to_public_html}/layout/chameleon. Then copy all the files within the themefiles directory into the chameleon directory. (so just the contents of the themefiles folder.) Big Grin

Hope this helps!

I checked my e-mail right after I looked at your answer and I found my loggin info for gl labs. I have uninstalled chameleon and deleted all the files so I will give it another shot going by what you said. Hope it works, it looks like it is just what I was looking for. Also, I submitted a theme but I never got an email on that. I think I named it "Dark Matter" but I'm not sure.

Did you submit the theme here at geeklog.net, or over at gllabs.org? I don't see it anywhere over at gllabs.org. On geeklog.net though I see there are currently 2 files in the submission queue (along with 11 add-ons). Unfortunatley, I don't have approval access here at geeklog.net, so you may want to contact Dirk or Blaine about the status of your submission. Big Grin

Is there a site where we can see the Dark Matter theme up and running?

Thx!

Eric

Well, I had dark matter up and running on my web site but I tried to port a theme and screwed something up and had to completely delete the whole thing. I was hoping that the file was somewhere on the geeklog server so that I could use it again. I got chameleon working and it rocks.
